K-adjusted IOL Power Calculator         ver 1.3

by Youngsub Eom MD, PhD

The keratometry (K)-adjusted IOL power calculator version 1.3 provides predicted refraction and IOL power using the adjusted K according to the posterior/anterior corneal curvature radii ratio without changing the mean value of the entire dataset. Thus, original IOL constants derived from conventional K measurements can be used in this K-adjusted IOL power calculator.

In our study, the geometric mean posterior/anterior corneal curvature radii ratio was 0.808. From this result, the fictitious refractive index of the cornea for a single Scheimpflug camera was calculated as 1.3275. Thus, the default value of the fictitious refractive index of the corneal for a single Scheimpflug camera is 1.3275. However, a user can change this fictitiuos refractive index by using an individual fictitious refractive index derived from the user's own dataset, as IOL constants can be optimized for each surgeon.
